[Discussion] Desperate for new music, but no idea where to start looking? tomhandy

This might be a common theme on this sub (I'm new here, sorry if it is) but I seriously can't find a way to regularly find new music/ bands. I've read Pitchfork / Consequence of Sound / Rolling Stone but they all seem to be an echo chamber of sorts. I just want a way to find new rising bands making genuine art with their music. Preferably in the genres of indie / alternative. Are there any blogs or magazines that skew more towards lesser-known indie bands? Thanks! Edit: Holy crap, I'm so grateful for each of your responses, lots of new bookmarks for me! I'll start compiling a list here of recommendations for any future redditors in the same pickle as me: Blogs: Gorilla Vs.
