The night sky was unequivocally important to our ancient ancestors, but continues to become increasingly exotic as light pollution dominates our urban environments. This is my latest compilation in an ongoing project to share the beauty of our galaxy with those that cannot readily experience it.

I kept my telescope pointed at Bode's Galaxy for 25 hours to create this picture. It was captured from my backyard. The pink areas in the galaxy represent nebulae - I used an H-Alpha filter to highlight them.
