Smoking fewer than 5 cigarettes a day results in approximately 2/3 of the lung damage found in smokers who smoke 30 or more cigarettes a day, finds a new study that followed more than 25,000 Americans up to 20 years, suggesting that nearly any amount of smoking causes significant harm to the lungs.
