TIL of Ken Banks, a Queensland man who set up a "retirement home" for birds who outlive their owners, at one count housing at least 1,600 birds including a cockatoo in its 90s. He prefers not to sell birds but rather swap with breeders or give birds to people after teaching how to care for them.
