A drug that is FDA-approved for treating alcohol addiction has been found, unexpectedly, to also reduce the inflammation associated with a variety of life-threatening conditions including sepsis and COVID-19. Now, the drug could be a "powerful therapeutic" for diseases from Alzheimer's to diabetes.
