[discussion] Modern Day Buskers, Tramps, and the rise of Americana randointernetguy

There are so many talented artists out there playing the streets and small venues every night. It can be hard to find the real talent as there is often no money for promotion. How do you find these artists? I've found gemsonvhs and fell in love immediately (surprisingly never mentioned on this sub).

Anthony Simpkins has been travelling the US and world bringing some mighty fine noise to the internet through his grassroots channel, gemsonvhs. If you like modern Americana and great songwriters/musicians I think you'll love his channel. GemsonVHS Youtube

Not my channel nor am I associated with it, just really dig the music and artists

Some of my current favorites:

Matt Heckler and Benjamin Tod "Blue Eyes Dancing"

Sierra Ferrell "In Dreams"

Lost Dog Street Band "September Doves"

Todd Day Wait "Heart Over Mind"

Charley Crockett "Big Gold Mine"

They want to share their knowledge with the world by creating a blog & sharing playlists based around specific ideas, along with adding in some historical context, but didn't seem set on how to go about it or get readers. In our talks, I asked if they'd considered sharing their knowledge with reddit, but they're not much of a redditor and said they weren't quite su
