Thirdhand smoke—where toxic chemicals off-gas from a smoker's clothes—may be more hazardous than previously thought. A new study analyzed the air quality of a smoke-free movie theater after moviegoers arrived, finding the toxic emissions were equivalent to one to 10 cigarettes of secondhand smoke.
