TIL: When the Nazis and the Vichy government began arresting and deporting the Jews, Si Kaddour Benghabrit Imam of Grand Mosque de Paris made it a sanctuary for endangered Jews. By offering them shelter; and giving them fake identity certificates, to prove they were Muslims, not Jews.
