TIL Superman fought the Ku Klux Klan because Stetson Kennedy wanted to expose the Klan after infiltrating them, the authorities weren't interested but the writers of Superman were willing to write it as a new plotline for Superman, which eventually caused the Klan's influence to fizzle out.
